In the fall of 2025, we opened a brand-new elementary school building, marking the completion of our expansion to a full K–12 program serving over 2,200 students. This growth will make Esperanza Academy the second-largest single charter school in Philadelphia, reinforcing our commitment to delivering high-quality education to even more students in our city.


THE OPPORTUNITY

Esperanza Academy Charter School is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Climate and Culture Facilitator to support a positive, safe, and structured learning environment within our elementary school program. This role is essential in building and maintaining a strong school culture that promotes respect, accountability, and student engagement from an early age.

The Climate and Culture Facilitator will work closely with school leadership, teachers, students, and families to reinforce school-wide expectations, support student behavior, and implement proactive strategies that foster a joyful and inclusive school environment. This individual will play a key role in shaping daily student experiences by ensuring consistent routines, supporting social-emotional development, and addressing behavioral challenges through restorative and developmentally appropriate practices.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


School Culture & Climate

  • Support the implementation of school-wide behavior systems, expectations, and routines
  • Reinforce positive student behavior through recognition systems and incentives
  • Help maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive school environment throughout the day (arrival, transitions, lunch, recess, dismissal)
  • Serve as a visible and active presence throughout the school building


Student Behavior & Support

  • Respond to and de-escalate student behavior incidents using restorative and trauma-informed practices
  • Support students in developing social-emotional skills, conflict resolution, and self-regulation
  • Facilitate reflection conversations, behavior interventions, and re-entry processes
  • Collaborate with teachers to implement consistent classroom management strategies


Family Communication & Engagement

  • Communicate with families regarding student behavior and progress in a professional and supportive manner
  • Partner with families to reinforce positive behavior and address concerns
  • Participate in conferences and meetings as needed


Collaboration & Staff Support

  • Work closely with teachers, counselors, and leadership to support student success
  • Assist in developing and implementing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), including supporting progress monitoring efforts through behavioral data collection, observations, and documentation as needed.
  • Support professional development initiatives related to school culture and behavior


Data & Documentation

  • Track and document behavior incidents and interventions
  • Analyze trends to inform proactive strategies and support
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student records


WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (Education, Social Work, or related field)
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students strongly preferred
  • Strong classroom management and behavior support skills
  • Knowledge of restorative practices, PBIS, and/or trauma-informed approaches preferred
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to remain calm and solution-oriented in high-stress situations
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
  • Current FBI, PA Criminal, and Child Abuse clearances required
