Call Schedule: TBA – Weekend rounding on inpatients in rotation with team members, on-call on rotating schedule
Practice Detail: Inpatient at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital. Outpatient in office building
EMR System: Altera SCM inpatient, Athena Outpatient
Facility: Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery
Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
What You Will Do:
- Consultative support, including reviewing test results and/or providing second opinions
- Shared decision-making through joint case conferences of surgeons, cardiologists and other specialists to determine the optimal site of care
- Integrated care management, including virtual care management and surgical planning
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the care and medical decision making for preoperative and postoperative patients at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St. Vincent Indianapolis and the Children’s Heart Center.
- Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds in the cardiac care unit.
- Order, perform, and interpret imaging, data, and labs.
- Perform procedures, such as temporary pacing wire and chest tube removal.
- Navigate and create records in the patient chart using the Sunrise Clinical Manager and AthenaHealth EMR systems.

- A 14-bed PICU staffed 24/7 by Pediatric Intensivists.
- A 18-bed Pediatric Emergency department staffed 24/7 by Pediatric Emergency physicians.
- Indiana’s largest Level IV NICU with 109 beds staffed 24/7 by Neonatologists.

What You Will Need:
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

One or more of the following required:
- Physician Assistant credentialed from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Physician Assistant credentialed from the Indiana Physician Assistant Committee obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Orthopedic Physician Assistant preferred.
- Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program. Master’s degree preferred.
- 1 year of experience preferred.
