What You Will Do:

• Consultative support, including reviewing test results and/or providing second opinions
• Shared decision-making through joint case conferences of surgeons, cardiologists and other specialists to determine the optimal site of care
• Integrated care management, including virtual care management and surgical planning

• Participate in the care and medical decision making for preoperative and postoperative patients at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St. Vincent Indianapolis and the Children’s Heart Center.
• Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds in the cardiac care unit.
• Order, perform, and interpret imaging, data, and labs.
• Perform procedures, such as temporary pacing wire and chest tube removal.
• Navigate and create records in the patient chart using the Sunrise Clinical Manager and AthenaHealth EMR systems.

• An attached tertiary care, pediatric hospital with 40 private inpatient beds and 8 short stay beds, staffed in-house 24/7 by our Pediatric Hospitalist group.
• A dedicated 8-bed Pediatric CVICU.
• A dedicated Pediatric CV OR and Hybrid Cardiac Cath Lab.
• A 14-bed PICU staffed 24/7 by Pediatric Intensivists.
• A 18-bed Pediatric Emergency department staffed 24/7 by Pediatric Emergency physicians.
• Indiana’s largest Level IV NICU with 109 beds staffed 24/7 by Neonatologists.

What You Will Need:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• One or more of the following required:
  • Physician Assistant credentialed from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Physician Assistant credentialed from the Indiana Physician Assistant Committee obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Orthopedic Physician Assistant preferred.

• Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program. Master’s degree preferred.

• 1 year of experience preferred.
