Associate Chief of Staff Jobs in San Francisco, CA at Mason & Blair, LLC

Title: Associate Chief of Staff

Company: Mason & Blair, LLC

Location: San Francisco, CA

Director, Business Excellence & Operations

High-Growth Cybersecurity Technology Company

Rapidly growing global Saas with over $200 million ARR is seeking an Associate Chief of Staff to serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and CFO.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work directly with an accomplished CFO and entrepreneurial CEO, helping shape the operational infrastructure required to support the next stage of growth. The position combines elements of Chief of Staff, business operations, strategy, finance, business intelligence, and special projects.

The Opportunity

As the company scales, its operating infrastructure must evolve alongside it. The Director of Business Excellence & Operations will help drive organizational effectiveness, cross-functional accountability, and executive decision-making.

Reporting directly to the CFO and partnering closely with the CEO, this is an individual contributor role with broad influence across the business. Success will come through leadership, analytical rigor, strong execution, and the ability to align senior stakeholders around priorities and outcomes.

The role spans strategy, operational execution, business intelligence, and high-impact initiatives, requiring someone who can move seamlessly between long-term planning and hands-on execution.

This is not a traditional program management role. The ideal candidate is a business operator who proactively identifies opportunities, addresses challenges directly, and drives measurable results.

Key Responsibilities

-Own and continuously improve the company's operating rhythm. Design and lead operating reviews, quarterly business reviews, planning processes, governance structures, and execution frameworks that create accountability across functions and drive consistent performance.

-Establish mechanisms to track commitments, monitor progress, and ensure issues are identified and addressed before they become larger problems.

-Partner with Finance, Business Intelligence, Enterprise Applications, and functional leaders to ensure executive discussions are grounded in actionable insights and meaningful performance metrics.

-Help shape KPI frameworks, identify emerging risks, surface key tradeoffs, and provide leadership with decision-ready analysis that supports effective execution.

-Identify organizational bottlenecks, process inefficiencies, and execution gaps, then lead initiatives that improve scalability and effectiveness across the business.

-Drive improvements in operating models, cross-functional processes, go-to-market alignment, and AI-enabled productivity initiatives that support growth without adding unnecessary complexity.

-Lead high-priority, cross-functional initiatives that require executive sponsorship and dedicated ownership. These projects often sit between organizational boundaries and require coordination across multiple teams.

Examples may include AI adoption initiatives, organizational design efforts, due diligence and integration activities, public-company readiness initiatives, and other strategic priorities identified by executive leadership.

-Strengthen the operating cadence across Sales and Marketing by leveraging existing dashboards, KPIs, and reporting structures. Drive accountability, improve visibility into performance, and establish disciplined follow-through on commitments.

-Expand operational excellence initiatives across additional functions, implementing scalable operating frameworks, performance management processes, and accountability mechanisms throughout the organization.
