The Role: What You’ll Do
As a BHT, you are the heartbeat of our facility. You’ll be more than a technician; you’ll be a mentor, a guide, and a vital support system for our residents.
- Foster a Positive Environment: Facilitate daily activities and maintain a safe, therapeutic, and uplifting atmosphere.
- Be a Resident Advocate: Provide high-level supervision and support, ensuring every resident feels heard and respected.
- Collaborate with Pros: Work side-by-side with our clinical and medical teams to execute personalized treatment plans.
- Lead by Example: Model healthy boundaries and communication skills for residents.

What We’re Looking For

- Certification: Current BHT certification.

- Experience: Previous experience in a BHRF or similar setting is a huge plus!
- FPCC (Fingerprint Clearance Card)
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Current TB test within the last year
- Have a minimum of 3 consecutive years of experience working as a Behavioral Health Technician in the field

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care by monitoring behavioral health status and implementing individualized treatment plans
- Support clients with activities of daily living
- Implement behavior management techniques, including applied behavior analysis (ABA), to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors
- Respond effectively to crises through crisis intervention and crisis management protocols, ensuring safety for clients and staff
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, special education professionals, and medical staff to coordinate comprehensive care
- Monitor client behavior and document observations accurately
- Support therapeutic activities and group sessions as directed by clinical staff
Skills
- Knowledge of crisis intervention strategies and crisis management procedures
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical documentation, and medical records management
- Ability to perform vital signs assessments accurately and efficiently
- Strong understanding of behavior management techniques and applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles
- Excellent communication skills for patient interaction, documentation, and team collaboration
- Compassionate approach to patient care with a focus on trauma-informed practices such as PTSD care and addiction counseling
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
