Job Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Boom Truck Helper, where you’ll be an essential part of our construction and material handling operations. In this energetic role, you will assist with the setup, operation, and maintenance of boom trucks and other heavy equipment to ensure safe and efficient lifting and transportation of materials on construction sites. Your proactive attitude and mechanical aptitude will help keep projects moving forward smoothly while maintaining a safe work environment. Responsibilities
- Assist with rigging, loading, and unloading materials using boom trucks, forklifts, backhoes, excavators, and other heavy machinery
- Support crane operators by preparing materials and ensuring proper placement for lifting operations
- Handle materials safely within warehouses, shipping & receiving areas, and construction sites
- Perform routine inspections of boom trucks and related equipment to ensure safety standards are met
- Maintain clear communication with team members to coordinate lifting activities and site logistics
- Help with general site cleanup, organization of tools and materials, and ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times
- Support the transportation of construction materials between storage areas and job sites using commercial driving skills when necessary
Requirements
- Basic mechanical knowledge with an understanding of heavy equipment operation and rigging techniques
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe
- Experience with construction site activities, including materials handling and equipment operation such as forklifts, backhoes, excavators, or boom trucks
- Familiarity with warehouse procedures including shipping & receiving processes
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in outdoor environments while adhering to safety guidelines
- Prior experience working on construction sites or in related roles is highly preferred
- Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members and supervisors
