About The Role
The Business Analyst role at Definitive Healthcare is a strategic position designed to support the company's financial planning and analysis functions, specifically focusing on Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) metrics. Reporting directly to the VP of FP&A, the Business Analyst will work closely with finance teams and business partners to develop, analyze, and present accurate and timely financial insights. This role involves tracking key drivers of ARR, including new customer acquisitions, upsells, downsells, and churn, segmented by various cohorts such as end market, product, and segment. The Business Analyst will play a vital role in supporting the digital transformation of reporting processes, integrating AI, automation, and cloud-based systems to facilitate real-time insights. Additionally, the role involves researching variances from forecasts, developing robust assumptions for planning, and contributing to process improvements to enhance efficiency and data accuracy. The ideal candidate will be proactive, analytical, and collaborative, capable of translating complex data into meaningful business recommendations that influence strategic decisions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
- Hands-on experience through internships, co-op programs, or similar roles in business analysis or finance
- Proficiency in Excel, including working with large datasets and creating complex models
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, or similar platforms
- Proven ability to leverage CRM systems like Salesforce for data extraction and analysis
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial and business data, identify trends, and understand drivers of variances
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present insights clearly to stakeholders
- Strong business partnering skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and levels of the organization
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy and integrity
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the VP of FP&A, finance team, and business partners to analyze and drive insights around ARR and other key financial metrics
- Prepare monthly reporting packs with critical metrics, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery
- Develop and maintain monthly rolling forecasts for ARR, including variance analysis and implications
- Support the digital transformation of reporting processes by integrating AI, automation, and cloud-based systems for real-time insights
- Research and explain significant variances from planned or forecasted ARR, sharing insights with stakeholders
- Assist in developing robust assumptions for the annual operating plan and ongoing projections
- Participate in ad hoc business analysis to support strategic decision-making
- Contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance reporting efficiency and data quality
- Support preparation for Board meetings and other executive presentations
