Salary: 45,000-65,000
FirstLight Home Care is seeking a compassionate, driven, and relationship-focused Business Development Director to lead growth efforts in the Virginia Beach market. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building meaningful connections and making a difference in the lives of seniors and families.
This role is central to driving brand visibility, referrer loyalty, and market expansion within the non-medical home care space. The ideal candidate will be both empathetic and results-driven, with a keen awareness of the needs of the elderly and disabled populations, and an ability to translate those insights into meaningful, mutually beneficial connections.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with referral sources, healthcare professionals, and community partners
- Actively grow and manage a high-performing referral network
- Plan and execute local marketing campaigns and community engagement initiatives
- Represent FirstLight at networking events, health fairs, and industry meetings
- Maintain a consistent presence in the community through daily outreach efforts
- Own and optimize the referral process to increase both volume and quality of leads
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the right caregiver-client match
- Create and manage a calendar of events, campaigns, and partner follow-ups
- Use CRM tools to track performance, analyze trends, and guide strategy
- Support client and family satisfaction through proactive communication and follow-up
- Ensure all messaging reflects FirstLight’s values and brand standards
What we are looking for:
- 3–5+ years in business development, relationship marketing, or community outreach
- Experience in home care, healthcare, or senior services preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field (preferred)
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office
- Self-motivated with a results-driven mindset
