Responsibilities
- Operate POS systems accurately to handle cash, credit, and digital payments while ensuring proper cash handling procedures.
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and guiding them through their purchases.
- Assist customers with product demos to showcase features and benefits, enhancing their shopping experience.
- Upsell relevant products and accessories to meet customer needs and increase sales opportunities.
- Maintain attractive merchandising displays and ensure shelves are stocked and organized according to company standards.
- Manage inventory by stocking shelves, conducting stock checks, and assisting with inventory counts to keep the store well-supplied.
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when handling inquiries or placing orders remotely, ensuring clear and professional communication.
- Support team members with supervising experience by mentoring new staff or assisting in training initiatives when needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred; familiarity with POS systems is a plus.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in both bilingual environments (English/Spanish or others).
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and transaction accuracy.
- Experience in grocery stores or retail environments is advantageous.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, stocking shelves, and moving merchandise.
- Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to handle inquiries professionally.
- Demonstrated upselling abilities and knowledge of merchandising techniques to enhance sales performance.
