Duties
- Operate POS systems accurately to process cash, credit, and digital transactions while handling cash with precision and integrity.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and offering product recommendations.
- Assist with merchandising tasks such as stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring the store remains inviting and well-maintained.
- Conduct product demos when appropriate to showcase new or featured items, encouraging customer engagement and upselling opportunities.
- Manage phone etiquette professionally when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely.
- Support inventory management through stock replenishment and inventory checks to ensure product availability.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills to effectively convey store promotions, policies, and product information in a bilingual environment if applicable.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred; familiarity with POS systems is a plus.
- Supervising experience is advantageous for those interested in growth opportunities within the team.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a grocery store environment.
- Basic math skills necessary for cash handling, retail math calculations, and balancing registers accurately.
- Ability to perform cashier duties confidently while maintaining excellent phone etiquette and communication skills.
- Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve our diverse customer base effectively.
- Prior experience with merchandising, stocking, or conducting product demos is beneficial but not required; training will be provided. Pay: $13.50 – $20.00 per hour
