Position Overview
We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to contribute to daily clinical operations in an outpatient environment. This role involves direct patient interaction, accurate clinical documentation, and coordination with physicians and advanced practice providers. The CMA plays a key role in maintaining workflow efficiency and supporting timely, organized patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome patients and collect essential clinical information including medical history, medications, and presenting concerns
- Record vital signs and prepare patients for provider evaluations
- Support providers during exams, procedures, and treatments
- Conduct CLIA-waived tests and basic screenings as directed
- Document visits, immunizations, lab results, and care activities in the electronic medical record system
- Administer injections and medications in accordance with certification and established protocols
- Coordinate referrals, diagnostic imaging, and prior authorizations
- Educate patients and reinforce care plans and provider instructions
- Follow infection control, safety, and confidentiality guidelines
- Complete follow-up communication and track outstanding care needs
- Participate in team meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and chart audits
Qualifications
Education and Certification
- Completion of an accredited medical assisting program with both clinical and lab training
- Current certification or registration as a Medical Assistant from an approved certifying organization
- Valid Basic Life Support certification
Experience
- At least one year of experience in a primary care or outpatient clinical setting
- Familiarity with Athena EMR or similar electronic health record systems preferred
Health Requirements
- Must meet Careteam Plus occupational health requirements, including TB testing and hepatitis B screening

Pay: $16.96 – $24.07 per hour
