Responsibilities:
– Assist in food preparation and meal assembly according to recipes and dietary guidelines
– Handle and store food safely, following proper sanitation procedures
– Assist with serving meals to residents or customers
– Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
– Maintain inventory of food and supplies, and execute the list of items needed by ordering, shopping and restocking
– Follow all safety protocols and guidelines in the kitchen
– Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation of the kitchen
Requirements:
– Previous experience in food service or a similar role preferred
– Knowledge of basic food handling and preparation techniques
– Ability to follow recipes and dietary guidelines accurately
– Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
– Excellent communication skills and ability to work well as part of a team
– Physical stamina to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds)
– Knowledge of kitchen equipment and utensils, including knife skills, is a plus
– Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
