We're partnering with an ambitious, technology-driven organisation to appoint a visionary Chief AI Officer (CAIO), an executive leader who will define how Artificial Intelligence is embedded across the business, transforming products, operations, decision-making, and customer experience.

This is a rare opportunity to join the executive leadership team and shape the long-term AI vision of a company investing heavily in modern technology, enterprise software, and intelligent automation.

Sitting strategically between the Chief Data Officer and Chief Information Officer / Chief Technology Officer, you'll bridge AI innovation with enterprise technology, ensuring the business not only adopts AI, but becomes genuinely AI-native.

Key Details:

  • Salary: $260,000-$500,000 basic + 55% bonus + equity IPO stock + healthcare allowances + several other perks
  • Location: Remote-based with tech hubs in Miami, Chicago, New York, Dallas TX, and Washington DC.
  • Future Outlook: Become the executive responsible for defining enterprise-wide AI strategy, governance, innovation, and commercial adoption across every business function.

Key Skills & Technology Experience Desired:

  • Enterprise AI Strategy: Proven experience defining and delivering AI strategy that aligns technology investment with measurable business outcomes.
  • Modern AI: Deep understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, AI Agents, intelligent automation, multimodal AI, and enterprise AI adoption.
  • AI Platforms: Experience with technologies such as OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, Vertex AI, Glean, Microsoft Copilot, or equivalent enterprise AI ecosystems.
  • Data & Analytics: Strong appreciation of enterprise data platforms, data governance, knowledge management, analytics, machine learning, and AI-ready data architecture.
  • Software & Engineering: Broad understanding of software engineering, APIs, cloud-native applications, automation, integration, DevOps, and scalable enterprise architecture.
  • Cloud Technology: Experience across AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or multi-cloud enterprise environments.
  • AI Architecture: Knowledge of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, embeddings, semantic search, AI orchestration frameworks, MLOps, and model governance.
  • Product & Innovation: Experience partnering with Product and Engineering teams to embed AI into customer-facing products and internal business platforms.
  • Commercial Leadership: Ability to identify where AI creates competitive advantage across operations, sales, marketing, customer experience, finance, and corporate functions.
  • Executive Leadership: Experience influencing boards, executive stakeholders, and cross-functional leadership teams while driving organisational transformation.
  • Governance & Risk: Strong understanding of responsible AI, security, compliance, governance, regulatory considerations, and enterprise AI adoption frameworks.
  • Communication: Exceptional ability to simplify complex technical concepts and inspire confidence across technical and non-technical audiences.

Role Overview:

As Chief AI Officer, you'll lead the organisation's AI vision, strategy, and execution, ensuring Artificial Intelligence becomes a core capability embedded across technology, products, operations, and commercial functions.

Working closely with the CEO, Board, CIO, CTO, and Chief Data Officer, you'll bridge the gap between AI innovation and enterprise execution, creating scalable AI capabilities that drive growth, operational efficiency, and competitive advantage.

You'll oversee the development of enterprise AI roadmaps, champion modern AI technologies, influence technical architecture, guide responsible AI adoption, and help create an organisation where AI is integrated into the way every team works. This role could suit various senior leaders such as Head of Data Science, Head of Machine learning, Director of Data, Director of Analytics, CTO, CIO, Chief Technology Officer, Chief Product Officer, VP Data, VP of Technology, Head of Software Engineering, Chief Data Scientist, SVP Technology, Director of Machine Learning, Head of Technology, VP of Product etc.
