The US base salary range for this full-time position is $150-206K. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position

Responsibilities:

Job Description
Candidate shall interface with design engineers, commodity specialists, and vendor personnel to identify appropriate spaceflight quality Electrical, Electronic, Electro-mechanical and Electro-optical (EEEE) parts, and resolve problems and issues. Participate in Project Parts Control Board (PCB) and participate in Failure Review Board meetings as the passive commodity Subject Matter Expert. Perform vendor audits (physical and documentation) in the development of new Industry Leading Parts Manufacturer product lines. Represent Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) as a member of the NASA Electronic Parts Advisory Group (NEPAG). Participate in and represent NASA concerns on JEDEC committees of technical importance to the NASA mission. Manage the GSFC Qualified Products List and associated specifications, ensuring vendor compliance with all technical, quality, and reporting requirements. Support activities may require domestic and international travel (<10%).

Qualifications:

Required Skills/Certs/Etc.

  • BS Degree, Electrical, Electronics or related technical field.
  • Minimum twenty (25) years demonstrated experience in a high reliability space parts selection role, using NASA, Department of Defense (DoD), European Space Agency (ESA), Automotive Electronics Council (AEC), and vendor item control drawings.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the various space environments effects and the effects on reliability and operation of packaged electrical and electronic systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of an integrated team with limited supervision.
  • Demonstrated experience as a passive component (resistor, capacitor, thermistor, etc.) subject matter expert, with a broad understanding of the manufacturing, testing, and reliability factors impacting the use of products in space flight applications.
  • Demonstrated experience as a subject matter expert in the study of metal whiskers and their impact to spaceflight reliability.
  • Well organized, with the ability to multi-task effectively in a fast paced project environment, with effective problem solving skills. Effective report development for providing near real-time status.
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of GIDEP data and reporting processes.
  • Experienced user of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
  • Excellent English communication (verbal and written) skills; able to make well-defined oral and written EEEE opinions.

  • Prior NASA EEEE project support experience.
