Chief Operating Officer – Business Exit Advisory Firm

Location: Folsom / Sacramento Region, CA (Remote role; however, candidate must be local to region or willing to relocate)

Compensation: ~$200,000 Base + Meaningful Equity Stake

We're hiring a Chief Operating Officer on behalf of our client — a founder-led business exit advisory firm launching in Northern California.

This is employee number one alongside a founder who has built and sold companies at significant scale — including one of the largest independent RIAs in the country. The mission: help business-owning baby boomers and Gen Xers navigate the high-stakes, emotional, and often misunderstood process of exiting their companies.

This is not your typical COO role. It's a build-it-from-scratch opportunity with real equity upside for the right operator.

What you bring:

1. 10 years of experience in financial services, professional services, or operational leadership
2. Background in a Big Four firm, private equity, financial marketing, or lead generation — or a mix of the above
3. CPA or strong financial fluency; experience navigating regulatory environments
4. Highly analytical — you love a spreadsheet and you love it more when it's right
5. Startup-ready mindset: comfortable with ambiguity, energized by building, and willing to take a calculated leap
6. Proficiency with AI tools and a forward-leaning approach to technology
