About the role
We're building an AI-powered platform that transforms how photos and videos are experienced — starting with intelligent phase-swapping technology. As our Chief Technology Officer, you'll be the architectural mind and technical conscience of the company, working hand-in-hand with the CEO to shape our product vision, scale our infrastructure, and lead the team that builds the future of AI-native media.
This is a foundational leadership role. You will own the full technology stack, define our AI strategy, and help steer critical business decisions from day one.

What you'll do
- Partner with the CEO to set technical strategy, company direction, and product roadmap
- Own all technology decisions — architecture, infrastructure, AI/ML stack, and engineering culture
- Lead, hire, and scale a world-class engineering and AI research team
- Oversee development of our core AI phase-swapping engine for photos and video
- Translate business goals into technical execution with speed and precision
- Evaluate and integrate third-party AI tools, APIs, and model providers
- Ensure platform scalability, security, and reliability as we grow
- Represent the technical vision externally — with investors, partners, and talent
- Drive a culture of innovation, iteration, and engineering excellence
Technical qualifications
- 10+ years in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a senior technical leadership role (VP Eng, CTO, Head of AI)
- Proven experience at an AI or ML product company — ideally in media, computer vision, or generative AI
- Deep expertise in machine learning and AI systems — model training, fine-tuning, inference optimization
- Strong background in computer vision or video/image processing technologies
- Experience building and scaling cloud-native platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Hands-on coding ability — you can go deep when needed, not just manage
- Familiarity with modern AI frameworks: PyTorch, TensorFlow, Diffusion Models, or similar
- Track record of shipping consumer or enterprise AI products to production
Leadership & business qualities
- Proven ability to build, mentor, and retain engineering teams from early stage onward
- Strong executive presence — comfortable in board rooms, investor meetings, and hiring pitches
- Data-driven decision-maker who can balance speed, quality, and technical debt wisely
- Excellent communicator — able to translate complexity for non-technical stakeholders
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias for action and ownership
- Experience contributing to business strategy, fundraising, and commercial partnerships
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and leading through rapid change
- High ethical standards around AI development, data privacy, and responsible tech
