We are seeking a dependable, caring, and energetic Childcare Assistant (Floater & Kitchen Support) to join our early childhood education center. This role is essential in supporting classrooms, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and assisting with daily food service needs.
This position also offers the opportunity to grow into a full-time Cook role based on performance and interest.
Position Summary
The Childcare Assistant supports daily operations across the center by assisting in classrooms, helping maintain cleanliness, and supporting kitchen and snack preparation. This is a great fit for someone who enjoys working with young children and is also comfortable assisting in a kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Classroom Support (Floater Duties)
- Assist teachers in infant, toddler, and preschool classrooms as needed
- Support daily routines including meals, nap time, and outdoor play
- Help maintain proper staff-to-child ratios when required
- Supervise and engage with children in a positive, caring manner
- Follow all health, safety, and licensing guidelines
Kitchen Support Duties
- Prepare and serve daily snacks for children
- Wash dishes, bottle warmers, and kitchen items
- Keep kitchen clean, sanitized, and organized
- Assist with basic food preparation as needed
- Monitor kitchen supplies and report shortages
- Follow simple recipes and assist teachers with food prep activities for children in Toddler and Primary classrooms as part of the Montessori approach
General Support
- Assist with maintaining cleanliness in shared indoor and outdoor spaces
- Support overall center operations as needed
- Work collaboratively with all staff members
Qualifications
- Experience in childcare, food service, or housekeeping preferred (not required)
- Strong work ethic and attention to cleanliness and safety
- Ability to multitask and move between classrooms and kitchen duties
- Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
- Physically able to stay active throughout the day
- Must pass the background checks and meet childcare requirements
Growth Opportunity

Pay: $16.00 – $18.00 per hour
