The Coating Room Operator is responsible for performing surface treatment of tools in preparation for thin film or physical vapor disposition (PVD) coating using a vacuum chamber.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set up and prep trays of tools for coating process.
- Operate vacuum chamber and other various equipment in the department for the coating process.
- Perform basic maintenance, such as cleaning and lubricating machine parts.
- Inspect equipment, as well as structures and/or materials, to identify the cause of non-conforming parts or defects.
- Inspect parts using precise measuring tools to ensure quality standards are met.
- Adhere to all safety practices and procedures.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Skills and Experience Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent with at least 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with machinery and measuring tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to follow detailed instructions, both written & verbal.
- Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to explain complex processes.
- Basic computer skills with knowledge of MS Office Suite
- Knowledge of SAP software helpful.
Pay Scale: $22.00 – $26.00 per hour
Job Schedule: Monday – Thursday; 6AM – 2:30PM & Friday; 6AM – 1:30PM, 40 hours per week with overtime as needed
