Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Cook to join our hospital food service team. In this role, you will prepare nutritious, high-quality meals for patients, visitors, and staff while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and sanitation. Responsibilities
- Assist with meal planning and preparation in accordance with dietary guidelines and menu specifications
- Prepare and serve food items while adhering to safety standards in production and food handling
- Support kitchen staff with slicing, chopping, and basic cooking tasks using proper knife skills and techniques
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas following safety protocols
- Help with food portioning, plating, and presentation to ensure appealing meals for clients
- Maintain accurate records of food inventory and assist with ordering supplies as needed
- Follow all food safety regulations to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health standards
- Support catering services by preparing meals for special events or group functions
- Provide friendly, efficient service during meal times to enhance the dining experience
- Collaborate with team members to meet dietary needs and accommodate special requests
Requirements
- Previous experience working in dietary departments, restaurants, or food service environments
- Proven dietary aide or culinary experience with knowledge of menu planning and food preparation
- Strong understanding of safety standards in food production and handling practices
- Skilled in cooking techniques including slicing, knife skills, and meal assembly
- Knowledge of food safety management systems and proper sanitation procedures
- Experience with food industry operations such as catering or large-scale meal service preferred
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
