We are looking for a Full Time Cook to join our Team!
We are a Christian Retreat and Conference Center, and our focus is to host camps and events for up to 1,300 people for churches across the Midwest.
We are looking to hire a Cook to help prepare meals for our retreat guests. The Cook will serve under the Food Service Manager by helping prepare meals and supervise staff. Duties will include prepping meals by measuring and mixing ingredients, cooking meals, checking ingredients for freshness, and ensuring that the kitchen and equipment are properly cleaned and maintained. To be successful in this job, you will need thorough experience with hot and cold food preparation and work well under pressure and within the time limits. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a related position and have a strong desire to work with our Food Service Manager to lead and inspire our dining room staff. Hours vary based on when meals need to be served and usually include nights and weekends.
Job Qualifications/Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Prior experience in related food and beverage service and food preparation.
- Thorough experience with hot and cold food preparation.
- Good working knowledge of accepted sanitation standards and health codes.
- Ability to use slicers, mixers, grinders, food processors, etc.
- Able to handle work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must possess or be willing to obtain a Food Safety Manager Certification.
