Position Overview:
We’re looking for a meticulous and proactive Returns & Fraud Analyst to join our Customer Experience team. This person will be responsible for processing returns across all sales platforms, inspecting returned devices for damage or discrepancies, verifying device authenticity, and spotting trends that may indicate internal process issues or fraudulent activity.
What You’ll Do:
- Process customer returns on eBay, Amazon, Shopify, and Backmarket platforms with speed and accuracy
- Assess returned devices for physical damage, functionality, and condition vs. the original listing
- Verify serial numbers, IMEIs, and other identifying information to detect possible fraud or mix-ups
- Document and escalate cases of suspected fraud or abuse
- Analyze return trends to identify operational or human errors and collaborate on solutions
- Maintain clear communication with internal departments to ensure a smooth customer experience
- Assist in refining return policies and procedures to reduce return rates and improve efficiency
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience with major eCommerce platforms (especially eBay, Amazon, Shopify, and/or Backmarket)
- Strong attention to detail and a sharp eye for inconsistencies
- Familiarity with consumer electronics (smartphones, laptops, tablets)
- Basic understanding of serial number/IMEI tracking and device specifications
- Investigative mindset with the ability to think critically and spot patterns
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a fast-paced team
Bonus Points For:
- Experience in fraud detection or quality control
- Prior work in a reverse logistics or tech refurbishing environment
- Data analysis or reporting skills
