Role Overview
As a Cytotechnologist, you will support accurate and timely diagnostic services by performing cytotechnology testing and assisting with specimen preparation in collaboration with pathology teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Performing cytotechnology testing
- Assisting with cytology preparation of specimens and fine needle aspirations
- Classifying and evaluating specimens and referring cases to the pathologist as appropriate
- Maintaining laboratory equipment, supplies, and instrumentation
- Performing other duties as assigned
Qualifications Education
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Bachelor’s degree requirement may be waived if certified prior to 1985.
Experience
Preferred:
Two (2) years of cytotechnology experience.
Licensure / Certification
- ASCP Certified Technologist in Chemistry
- State of Florida certification (ASCP)
