Delivery Team Member

Responsible for assisting with the safe, accurate and timely delivery of customer orders and intracompany transfers. This role supports the delivery driver, helps maintain organized and efficient loading practices, and ensures a positive experience for customers during deliveries. The Delivery Team Member will also assist with warehouse responsibilities, order preparation and general operational support as needed.

Temporary employment status May through September with the potential to transition to part time or full time capacity.

Job Specific Accountabilities:

• Load and unload building materials doors, windows, flooring, moulding, etc.
• Ensure deliveries are accurate and secure prior to departing the store
• Accompany drivers on scheduled delivery routes and assist with navigating delivery locations
• Provide professional and courteous customer service during deliveries
• Inspect materials for visible damage prior to delivery
• Assist with maintaining clean and organized delivery trucks and work areas
• Follow all company safety policies and proper lifting procedures
• Communicate delivery issues, damages or customer concerns promptly to management
• Support warehouse operations when not assigned to deliveries
• Assist with verifying paperwork and delivery documentation as required
• Work collaboratively with store, warehouse and driver to maintain efficient operations

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous delivery experience
• Ability to safely lift, carry and move heavy materials throughout the workday
• Strong work ethic, reliability and punctuality
• Ability to work in a fastpaced team environment
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Ability to follow directions and safety procedures
• Forklift experience is a plus, but not required

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 100lbs (frequently lifting/carrying up to 50lbs).
• Ability to do basic math, read instructions and complete forms accurately.
• Warehouse experience, specifically in a building material environment.
