Position Summary
All Nations Health Center is seeking a compassionate, culturally responsive, and motivated Dental Hygienist to join our growing dental team serving Native American and underserved families in Missoula, Montana.
This position is more than a dental hygiene role — it is an opportunity to build relationships, improve access to oral healthcare, and make a meaningful impact in the lives of our relatives and community members.
The Dental Hygienist provides preventive and therapeutic dental hygiene services within a culturally grounded, trauma-informed, and relative-centered care environment. This role works collaboratively with dental providers, Patient Services Representatives (PSRs), and clinical staff to support high-quality patient care and improve community oral health outcomes.

All Nations Health Center is an Urban Indian Health Organization dedicated to providing holistic, culturally responsive healthcare services to Native American and underserved populations. Our dental clinic is the only urban clinic in Montana focused on delivering dental services specifically for the Native population.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Clinical Services & Patient Care
- Provide preventive dental hygiene services for adult and pediatric patients
- Perform prophylaxis, periodontal scaling and root planing, fluoride treatments, and sealants
- Conduct oral cancer screenings and caries risk assessments
- Provide oral health education and prevention-focused patient counseling
- Assist in identifying patient treatment needs and referrals for specialty or restorative dental care
Integrated & Culturally Responsive Care
- Deliver culturally responsive, trauma-informed services aligned with Indigenous values and community needs
- Build trusting relationships with patients and families across diverse backgrounds
- Support a welcoming and respectful patient experience throughout the dental visit
Care Coordination & Team Collaboration
- Collaborate with Dental and PSR staff to improve patient flow, same-day access, and continuity of care
- Support efficient scheduling practices and reduce gaps in care whenever possible
- Participate in team-based communication and clinic quality improvement efforts
Documentation & Compliance
- Complete timely and accurate documentation within the electronic health record (EHR)
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, infection control standards, and organizational policies
- Follow Montana Board of Dentistry regulations and applicable supervision requirements
Qualifications & Licensure
- Active and unrestricted Montana Dental Hygienist license required
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required upon hire
- Experience providing preventive dental hygiene services in a clinical setting preferred
- Experience working with Native American, underserved, or culturally diverse populations preferred
- Strong communication, documentation, and patient education skills
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative, mission-driven healthcare team

Physical Demands
This position may require occasional lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 25 pounds. The ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, handle, and feel is required. The ability to hear normal conversational speech and maintain near and far visual acuity is required.
