Timber Ridge School is a year-round residential treatment center licensed and fully accredited school. Our employees transform the lives of emotionally and behaviorally challenged adolescent boys between the ages of 10-21, with a goal of reuniting them successfully with their families and community. Our behavior support system includes trauma-informed care. Our proven residential programs focus on the whole student, emphasizing physical and emotional health, educational achievement, vocational interests, independence, and social interaction to help every child achieve his greatest potential. Our campus is located just 20 miles northwest of Winchester, Virginia in the scenic Shenandoah Valley.
What You’ll Do
As a Direct Youth Care Worker, you will play a vital role in shaping young lives by:
- Supervising students in a residential setting
- Modeling positive behavior and life skills
- Supporting recreational and therapeutic activities
- Responding to crisis situations as needed
- Monitoring student health, hygiene, and wellness
- Maintaining accurate and confidential records
- Working both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
You’ll work closely with a supportive, high-functioning team to create a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for our students.
Schedule
- Variable weekday evening hours
- Every other weekend: Saturday & Sunday, 1 PM – 1 AM

REQUIREMENTS:
·What We’re Looking For
- Minimum age: 21
- Education & Experience:
- High school diploma/GED and 6 months experience with teens OR
- Associate’s degree and 3 months experience with teens OR
- Bachelor’s degree
- Valid driver’s license required
- Volunteer or professional experience with youth (e.g. coaching, scouting, Big Brothers/Big Sisters) strongly preferred
- Ability to thrive in a structured, team-based environment
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
