Job Objective: Directs the planning, delivery, assessment, and ongoing improvement of the athletic program.
Minimum · Valid state department of education license/certificate appropriate for the position.
Qualifications:
· Meets all mandated health requirements
· A record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.
· Complies with drug-free workplace rules and board policies.
· Keeps current with technology and other workplace innovations that support job functions.
· Completion of pupil activity supervisor validation requirements (e.g., first aid/CPR, etc.).
· Comprehensive knowledge of interscholastic athletic program regulations.
Essential Functions:
· Administers the district’s interscholastic athletic program. Develops a District-wide athletic program policy and guidebook (update annually) which articulates a clear philosophy and expectations for the program and those within it. Ensures that all athletes receive appropriate instruction, support, and opportunities to participate. Works closely with the staff and site administration to enforce expectations which are consistent with the goals of the staff, administration, and the district.
· Participates as an active member of the management team. Upholds board policies and follows administrative guidelines/procedures. Ensures adherence to federal, state, league, and district policies and requirements.
· Appropriately delegates responsibilities among the assistant athletic director, athletic secretary, and the administrative team.
Pay: $89,390.00 – $101,137.00 per year
