We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Director of Facilities to lead all aspects of facility operations, maintenance, safety, and capital improvement activities across multiple sites in Western New York. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring buildings, grounds, equipment, and support systems are safe, compliant, well-maintained, and capable of supporting the organization’s mission and daily operations.

The ideal candidate will bring strong facilities management experience, a proactive leadership style, excellent vendor and contractor management skills, and the ability to balance strategic planning with day-to-day operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct all facility operations across multiple locations, ensuring safe, clean, and efficient environments.
  • Oversee building maintenance, repairs, preventative maintenance programs, and facility improvement projects.
  • Manage facility-related budgets, expenditures, and capital improvement planning.
  • Supervise maintenance personnel and coordinate work assignments, priorities, and performance expectations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with contractors, vendors, service providers, and municipal agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, safety standards, inspections, and licensing requirements.
  • Oversee building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire and life safety systems, security systems, and general infrastructure.
  • Coordinate emergency repairs and facility-related responses as needed.
  • Manage work order systems and ensure timely completion of maintenance requests.
  • Conduct routine inspections of facilities and grounds to identify maintenance needs and opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead facility projects including renovations, space planning, construction coordination, and equipment replacement initiatives.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to maximize asset life and reduce operational disruptions.
  • Support organizational growth by evaluating facility needs and making recommendations for future improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of facilities management, property management, construction management, OR related leadership experience.
  • Experience managing multiple facilities and/or campuses preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing vendors, contractors, maintenance teams, and capital projects.
  • Knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and life safety systems.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and facility management or work order software systems.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Pay: $86,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
