Most small service businesses — the plumber, the HVAC company, the electrician — are running their entire operation out of a whiteboard, a group text thread, and one person's memory.
fielduniverse.ai is building the operating system that changes that: AI-powered scheduling, dispatch, communication, payments, and business intelligence — purpose-built for the trades.
We're early, founder-led, and moving fast. This is our first operations hire.

What you'll do
You'll work directly with the founders to build the internal systems and processes that allow us to scale — onboarding, vendor operations, workflow design, HR and legal coordination, and real-time problem solving. Some of this infrastructure exists. Much of it doesn't yet.
What that looks like week to week:
• Own and rebuild the customer onboarding experience end-to-end
• Source, evaluate, and implement operational tooling and workflows
• Design processes that don't exist and make sure they hold
• Coordinate across Finance, HR, Legal, and Operations as the team grows
• Solve problems that have never come up before, without waiting to be asked
This is not a coordinator role.
You'll move without a playbook, operate with high autonomy, and be expected to identify problems before they're formally named.

Who we're looking for
3 plus years of experience in Operations, Generalist, BizOps, or Chief of Staff-type roles at a startup.
The title is secondary. What matters is whether you've actually built something — a system, workflow, process, or operational improvement — that materially improved how a business functioned.
Beyond that:
• You operate better without a playbook than most people do with one
• You communicate with unusual clarity, especially in writing
• You naturally seek better ways to improve efficiency and execution
• You use AI tools as genuine operational leverage, not as a novelty
• You think about how systems and people interact, not just one in isolation
• You're highly organized across digital systems, workflows, and information
• You want to help build something from the beginning, not join after it's figured out
