About the Role

We're partnering with a fast-growing technology startup that's redefining how people engage with its products and brand. As the Director of Social Strategy & Content, you'll own the vision, strategy, and execution of the company's social presence, helping shape the brand's voice while driving awareness, engagement, and community growth.

This is a highly visible leadership role where you'll work cross-functionally with Brand, Product Marketing, Creative, Communications, and Executive Leadership to develop social-first campaigns, launch new initiatives, and create content that resonates across multiple audiences.

The ideal candidate is equal parts strategist, storyteller, and content creator—someone who understands internet culture, knows how to build engaged communities, and can translate business objectives into compelling social experiences.

Responsibilities

Own Social Strategy

  • Develop and lead the company's organic social media strategy across platforms including LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, and emerging channels.
  • Build channel-specific content strategies aligned with overall brand and business objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to grow brand awareness, engagement, and audience loyalty.

Lead Content Development

  • Oversee the planning, creation, and publishing of high-quality social content including video, graphics, photography, motion, executive thought leadership, and written content.
  • Develop editorial calendars that support product launches, company announcements, events, recruiting initiatives, and brand campaigns.
  • Ensure all content reflects a consistent brand voice while adapting to platform best practices.

Drive Creative Campaigns

  • Concept and execute social-first campaigns designed to increase engagement and brand visibility.
  • Partner with Creative and Marketing teams to produce innovative content that performs across channels.
  • Identify real-time opportunities to participate in relevant cultural conversations and industry trends.

Build Community

  • Develop strategies that foster authentic relationships with customers, creators, employees, and industry influencers.
  • Guide community engagement and social listening efforts to strengthen brand affinity.
  • Monitor audience sentiment and recommend proactive communication strategies.

Measure Performance

  • Define KPIs and establish reporting frameworks for social performance.
  • Analyze engagement, audience growth, reach, and conversion metrics to optimize future content.
  • Present insights and recommendations to executive leadership.

Partner Across the Business

  • Work closely with Product Marketing, Demand Generation, PR, Customer Success, Recruiting, and Leadership to align messaging across all external communications.
  • Support executive visibility through thought leadership content and personal brand development.

Lead and Mentor

  • Build, mentor, and manage internal social and content teams as the organization grows.
  • Partner with freelancers, agencies, photographers, videographers, and creators when needed.
  • Establish creative standards, workflows, and best practices across the organization.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in social media, content strategy, digital marketing, or brand marketing.
  • 3+ years leading social strategy for a consumer or B2B technology company, startup, or high-growth brand.
  • Proven experience developing social strategies that drive measurable business results.
  • Strong understanding of platform algorithms, audience behavior, and emerging social trends.
  • Experience creating and managing video-first content strategies.
  • Excellent copywriting and storytelling skills.
  • Experience collaborating with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience using social analytics and reporting platforms.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced startup environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working at a venture-backed startup or rapidly scaling technology company.
  • Background in SaaS, AI, fintech, developer tools, enterprise software, or emerging technologies.
  • Experience supporting executive thought leadership and founder-led content strategies.
  • Familiarity with influencer marketing and creator partnerships.
  • Experience with tools such as Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Later, Dash Hudson, Notion, Asana, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Google Analytics, and social listening platforms.
