Purpose

Lead and align Heath’s showroom experience across all locations. This role drives sales performance, develops strong teams, and ensures each showroom delivers a consistent, brand-aligned, relationship-driven customer experience. Through close partnership and insight, the Director of Stores helps translate strategy into day-to-day execution that supports growth.

Position Summary

The Director of Stores is a proactive, relationship-driven leader responsible for the performance, experience, and operational consistency of Heath’s showroom locations. This role identifies opportunities to strengthen how we work across people, processes, and systems. Translating insights from teams and customers into meaningful improvements that support a relationship-based sales environment.

The Director leads a team of Showroom Managers, drives sales performance and profitability, and ensures each location delivers an exceptional, brand-aligned customer experience. This role partners cross-functionally across Retail, B2B, Hospitality, Merchandising, Operations, and Marketing to support company growth and ensure alignment across channels.

Position Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of Showroom Managers across all locations, providing coaching, feedback, and support for performance and career growth
  • Own showroom sales performance and profitability, including setting and tracking KPIs, identifying risks, and ensuring timely action on performance gaps
  • Drive a relationship-based, brand-aligned customer experience rooted in storytelling, product knowledge, and service
  • Partner with B2B and Hospitality leaders to support development of key client relationships and expand business opportunities
  • Ensure consistency across showroom operations while maintaining the unique identity of each location
  • Oversee in-store events and tours, supporting planning and execution in partnership with showroom teams
  • Establish and maintain store operations standards, including POS systems, cash handling, staffing, and scheduling practices
  • Lead hiring, onboarding, coaching, and development of showroom teams, with a focus on building strong leadership capability at the manager level
  • Develop and manage sales and labor budgets, including quarterly and annual forecasting
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, tools, and ways of working by synthesizing team and customer feedback
  • Act as a key cross-functional partner to ensure alignment across Retail, B2B, Hospitality, Merchandising, Operations, and Marketing
  • Utilize reporting, dashboards, and data insights to inform decisions, identify trends, and reinforce accountability while maintaining a focus on customer and team experience

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of retail leadership experience, including managing multi-location teams
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with a track record of developing high-performing teams
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and build relationships across functions
  • Strong business acumen, including experience managing sales performance, KPIs, and budgets
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
  • Data-informed decision maker with comfort using reporting tools and dashboards
  • Deep understanding of the Heath brand, values, and customer experience

Work Environment/ Hours / Compensation

  • Full-time, exempt role
  • Based in San Francisco, CA with regular travel to all showroom locations (SF, Sausalito, LA, Austin)
  • Monday–Friday schedule, with occasional weekends required for events and peak business periods
  • Remote work available 2 days a week
  • $150,000 – $160,000
