Position Summary

The Distribution & Processing Technician performs routine operational work related to the preparation, packaging, documentation, and shipment of frozen semen product. This position is responsible for executing shipping and distribution tasks accurately and on schedule, maintaining inventory records, supporting quality control processes, and assisting with bovine semen processing, freezing, and packaging activities as assigned.

This role works under general supervision and follows established procedures, safety requirements, quality standards, and production timelines. The position requires regular physical activity, attention to detail, and the ability to perform work in warehouse, processing, and variable temperature-controlled environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities and Duties:

· Pick, pack, label, and prepare orders for shipment according to work orders, shipping deadlines, and company procedures.

· Verify product type, quantity, labeling, and shipment documentation for accuracy before orders are released.

· Stage outgoing shipments and materials in designated areas for distribution.

· Complete required shipping, inventory, and tracking documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

· Coordinate with internal departments to support timely order fulfillment and shipment schedules.

· Inventory and Product Handling

· Maintain accurate inventory records by recording product movement, usage, and shipment activity in designated systems or logs.

· Assist with cycle counts, stock organization, and reporting of inventory discrepancies.

· Inspect materials, product, and packaging for quality, accuracy, and condition.

· Handle sensitive biological product according to established procedures to preserve product integrity and traceability.

· Assist with the processing, freezing, packaging, and handling of bovine semen product in accordance with company procedures and quality standards.

· Support workflow needs between distribution and processing functions based on daily operational priorities.

· Prepare materials and supplies needed for processing and packaging activities.

· Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, and other material-handling equipment as authorized and needed.

· Follow all company safety policies, standard operating procedures, and applicable handling requirements.

· Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area.

· Use required personal protective equipment and safe lifting/handling practices.

· Report safety concerns, damaged materials, equipment issues, and quality concerns to supervision promptly.

· Perform other related duties as assigned to support departmental and operational needs.

Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Ability to read and follow written instructions, work orders, labels, and shipping documents.

· Basic computer skills sufficient to enter and review shipping, inventory, or order information.

· Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with coworkers and supervisors.

· Ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.

· Previous experience in shipping, warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, agricultural operations, or related environments.

· Experience with inventory systems, shipping systems, or barcode/labeling processes.

· Experience operating forklifts or other warehouse equipment.

· Knowledge of basic shipping, packaging, and inventory practices.

· Ability to follow established procedures and meet productivity and accuracy expectations.

· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

· Ability to manage time effectively and complete assigned tasks within required deadlines.

· Ability to adapt to changing daily priorities and operational demands.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

· Reliable attendance and dependability in meeting work schedules.

The work environment may include warehouse, production, laboratory, agricultural, or processing areas. This position may regularly work in environments with temperature variation, including cold-storage or refrigerated conditions. The role may involve exposure to odors, noise, mechanical equipment, and biological materials consistent with normal operational processes.

· Work in temperature-controlled and variable-temperature environments.

· Visually inspect product, labels, and documentation for accuracy and quality.

Compensation for this role is based on experience. The estimated starting pay range is $16-$19.50 per hour.
