Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Dump Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating a dump truck to transport and deliver materials such as gravel, dirt, debris, and other bulk freight to various job sites. Your expertise in truck driving, route navigation, and load management will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Responsibilities
- Operate dump trucks and other heavy-duty vehicles such as roll-off trucks and tractor-trailers with precision and adherence to safety protocols.
- Load and unload materials efficiently using appropriate equipment like forklifts or manual methods when necessary.
- Drive route-specific deliveries, ensuring punctuality and accuracy in transporting freight including bulk materials, debris, or specialized loads like refrigerated trailers or tankers.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues.
- Maintain detailed logs of deliveries, routes, fuel consumption, and vehicle condition for compliance and reporting purposes.
- Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during operations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, site managers, and team members to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any logistical issues promptly.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in truck driving, particularly with dump trucks or similar heavy-duty vehicles such as tractor-trailers or roll-off trucks.
- Proficiency in operating manual transmission vehicles is a MUST.
- Experience with load & unload procedures for freight including bulk materials or specialized cargo like refrigerated trailers or tankers.
- Ability to perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks independently.
- Familiarity with route driving, GPS navigation tools, and safety protocols related to freight transportation.
- Physical stamina to handle long hours on the road and manual tasks associated with loading/unloading cargo.
