Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to emergency calls, providing immediate medical assistance at the scene and during transport
- Assess patient conditions through thorough patient assessment and vital signs monitoring
- Perform basic life support procedures, including airway management, injection administration, and vital signs measurement
- Conduct physical examinations and utilize physiology knowledge to determine appropriate interventions
- Administer medications as authorized, following aseptic techniques and medical protocols
- Operate emergency vehicles safely, demonstrating driving skills and heavy lifting capabilities during patient transport
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care, medical history, and treatment provided in compliance with medical terminology standards
- Collaborate with hospital staff during triage and critical care transport to ensure seamless patient handoff
- Utilize DME (Durable Medical Equipment) effectively for patient stabilization and comfort
- Apply critical care experience and hospital experience to manage complex cases within Level I Trauma Centers or Level II trauma centers as applicable
Skills
- Proven EMT experience with a strong foundation in emergency medicine procedures
- Critical care experience and hospital experience preferred for handling complex cases
- Knowledge of triage protocols and Level I Trauma Center operations
- Expertise in airway management, venipuncture, injection administration, and medication delivery
- Familiarity with physiology, anatomy knowledge, medical terminology, and vital signs assessment
- Ability to perform physical examinations with precision while maintaining aseptic technique
- Experience with critical care transport environments requiring quick decision-making under pressure
- Strong driving skills coupled with the ability to lift heavy loads safely during emergency responses
- Excellent patient care skills with a focus on compassionate communication and professionalism
