What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)
- Perform complex administrative and technical support duties for the City Manager, Deputy City Manager, and City Council
- Maintain calendars, coordinate activities, and arrange travel for executive staff
- Manage correspondence, compose responses, and ensure timely distribution of information
- Administer the budget for the City Manager's Office and City Council, processing invoices and maintaining financial records
- Supervise and train subordinate staff, participating in their performance management and professional development
What Is Required (Qualifications)
- Minimum of six years of increasingly responsible administrative and secretarial experience, including three years at the executive level
- Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent; college coursework in public administration or communications is preferred
- Knowledge of local government operations, policies, and procedures
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently
How To Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
- Experience in public administration or related field
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite programs
- Previous supervisory experience
- Demonstrated ability to respond effectively to community member inquiries and concerns
- Knowledge of budgeting and financial management principles
