The role requires initiative, independent judgment, problem-solving skills, flexibility, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must satisfactorily perform each essential responsibility independently of the Head of School. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
Responsibilities
- Perform diverse, high-level office-related responsibilities with minimal supervision as delegated by the Head of School.
- Coordinate a wide variety of projects, activities, and/or events for the Head of School.
- Maintain and coordinate the Head of School’s schedule, including appointments, meetings, travel reservations/accommodations, etc.
- Prioritize and review incoming mail and telephone calls for the Head of School. Compose responses when directed by the Head of School with professionalism and discretion.
- Organize, assemble, distribute, and prepare board materials for Board of Trustees meetings.
- Work directly with the Chairman of the Board and Board Committee Chairs.
- Plan and coordinate details of meetings and other special events.
- Support the Head of School in preparation for various presentations and meetings.
- Draft and edit documents, correspondence, and presentations with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Maintain and write meeting minutes for all Board of Trustees meetings.
- Manage and monitor the status of school projects and initiatives overseen by the Head of School.
- Collaborate and assist other administrators within the leadership team as they interact with the Head of School.
- Process and maintain confidential information regarding school operations.
- Perform related duties as assigned to ensure smooth office operations.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.

Ideal candidates will have relevant work experience or an Associate's Degree, and possess the technological skills to perform the outlined responsibilities. The salary range for this position is $35,000 to $45,000, depending on qualifications and experience. The selected candidate will be offered full-time benefits. The Executive Assistant to the Head of School will start with one week of paid vacation after six months of employment, and will also have a number of holiday days off (when school is not in session) and a three-day workweek summer schedule from June through July.
The ideal candidate will be able to start at the end of May or early June. This position will remain open until filled.
