Position Summary:
The Executive Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the organization's daily operations to ensure efficiency, productivity, profitability, and long-term growth. This senior leadership role develops operational strategies, manages cross-functional teams, improves business processes, and ensures that operational activities align with the company's strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the organization's day-to-day operational activities across departments and business units.
- Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures to support organizational goals.
- Drive operational excellence by identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and cost management.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to ensure business objectives are achieved.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and execute strategic business initiatives.
- Manage operational budgets, forecasting, and resource allocation to maximize organizational performance.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and quality standards.
- Identify operational risks and develop mitigation strategies to maintain business continuity.
- Lead organizational change initiatives and process improvement programs.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of business operations.
- Oversee workforce planning, talent development, and performance management within operational departments.
- Evaluate and implement technology solutions to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, partners, and key stakeholders.
- Prepare operational reports and present performance updates to executive leadership and the board of directors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Management, Finance, Engineering, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- 12 years of progressive operations management experience, including senior leadership responsibilities.
- Proven experience leading large-scale operational functions and managing cross-functional teams.
- Strong understanding of business operations, process improvement, and organizational development.
- Experience with budgeting, financial analysis, and performance management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced business environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in strategic planning and organizational transformation.
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, or other operational excellence methodologies.
- Strong project management and change management capabilities.
- Experience with enterprise systems and business process automation.
