As our company grows, we are seeking an experienced Lead Portable Sanitation Driver to help support daily field operations, lead other service drivers, train new team members, and help maintain our high service standards.

Position Overview

The Lead Portable Sanitation Driver is responsible for supervising, training, and leading other sanitation drivers; as well as delivering, servicing, cleaning, and maintaining portable toilets, handwash stations, and related equipment across assigned service routes. This role works independently in the field, operates a company vehicle, and interacts professionally with customers.

This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone with at least 3 years of prior portable sanitation industry experience who can step into a leadership role and help elevate our operations.

Position Overview

The Lead Portable Sanitation Driver serves as a field leader within our operations team. This individual will run their own route while also helping supervise, train, and support other drivers.

This role requires someone who takes ownership, leads by example, maintains high standards, and can be trusted to help ensure daily operations run smoothly.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, staying active, solving problems, and taking pride in leading a team.

Key Responsibilities:

Service & Maintenance

  • Pump, clean, sanitize, and restock portable toilets, handwash stations, and related equipment
  • Replenish supplies including toilet paper, hand soap, sanitizer, and freshwater
  • Perform minor repairs, adjustments, and maintenance on units as needed
  • Ensure all units meet company cleanliness and quality standards

Route Operations

  • Complete assigned service routes efficiently and accurately
  • Communicate with management regarding route progress, delays, or service issues
  • Document completed service and report units not serviced or requiring additional attention
  • Load and unload units and equipment as needed

Driving & Equipment Handling

  • Operate company service trucks safely and responsibly
  • Follow all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company safety policies
  • Secure cargo and ensure equipment is transported safely

Customer Interaction

  • Provide friendly, professional communication with customers on job sites
  • Identify customer concerns, service issues, and upsell opportunities
  • Notify management of customer requests or problems

Driver Leadership

  • Help train and onboard new service drivers
  • Assist in preparing trucks, equipment, and drivers for the day
  • Help maintain route quality and service consistency across all drivers
  • Reinforce company safety, cleanliness, and customer service standards
  • Identify operational issues and communicate improvement opportunities to management
  • Serve as a field leader and point of contact when management is unavailable

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of portable sanitation industry experience required
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to work independently and lead others
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull 50–100 lbs and maneuver portable restrooms
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Comfortable working around sanitation equipment, odors, and cleaning chemicals
  • Must pass a background check
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred Skills

  • Prior leadership or driver training experience
  • Basic mechanical aptitude
  • Experience operating mid-size work trucks
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship

Work Schedule

  • Approximately 35–50 hours per week
  • Weekly schedule may vary based on route demand and business needs
  • Occasional overtime may be available

Pay: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour
