JOB DESCRIPTION
: The Field Process Manager – Low-Slope / Sheet Metal Installation leads TORC’s Low Slope & Sheet Metal field operations, overseeing the execution of low-slope roofing systems and architectural sheet metal installation. This role ensures Low Slope & Sheet Metal projects are executed safely, efficiently, and profitably while maintaining strict adherence to manufacturer specifications and company quality standards. The Field Process Manager is responsible for the leadership of Low Slope & Sheet Metal superintendents and installation teams, ensuring production scheduling, manpower planning, and field processes align with project budgets and company operational objectives. Fabrication operations for sheet metal remain under the Director of Operations to maintain separation of duties and protect margin accountability.


Essential Functions as follows:


Low Slope & Sheet Metal Field Leadership

Lead all Low Slope & Sheet Metal installation operations including:

  • Low-slope roofing systems
  • Architectural sheet metal installations
  • Standing seam systems
  • Coping metal
  • Wall panel installations
  • Responsibilities include:
  • Supervise and mentor Low Slope & Sheet Metal Superintendents
  • Ensure consistent installation practices
  • Oversee manpower planning
  • Monitor field productivity


Production Planning & Scheduling

Ensure Low Slope & Sheet Metal jobs are properly planned and executed.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Coordinate scheduling with Project Managers
  • Ensure jobsite readiness prior to crew mobilization
  • Coordinate equipment needs
  • Identify scheduling conflicts early
  • Improve jobsite workflow efficiency


Installation Quality & Technical Standards

Ensure installations meet:

  • Ensure installations meet:
  • Manufacturer specifications
  • Contract scope
  • TORC quality standards

    Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct jobsite inspections
  • Review installation procedures
  • Support superintendent troubleshooting
  • Maintain consistent quality standards across crews


Safety Leadership

Drive safety performance across Low Slope & Sheet Metal operations

Responsibilities include:

  • Enforce OSHA and company safety policies
  • Conduct safety inspections
  • Lead incident investigations
  • Coordinate safety training with Safety Manager


Margin Protection & Field Efficiency

Protect project profitability through strong operational oversight.

Responsibilities include:

  • Monitor field productivity vs labor budgets
  • Identify inefficiencies in field execution
  • Support operational improvements
  • Coordinate with purchasing and estimating when issues arise


Superintendent Development

Build strong Low Slope & Sheet Metal field leadership.

Responsibilities include:

  • Coach and mentor superintendents
  • Support training and certification programs
  • Identify leadership development opportunities
  • Manage performance expectations


Key Performance Indicators

Performance will be measured by:

  • Low Slope & Sheet Metal project schedule adherence
  • Installation quality metrics
  • Safety performance
  • Labor productivity vs budgets
  • Field operational efficiency
  • Superintendent development


Customer Experience:

  • Ensure field teams maintain a professional and customer-focused presence on jobsites, reinforcing TORC’s standards for communication, workmanship, and jobsite conduct.
  • Support superintendents in maintaining clear communication with Project Managers to ensure customer expectations, project scope, and scheduling commitments are consistently met.
  • Promote installation practices that prioritize quality, reliability, and long-term performance to strengthen customer confidence in TORC’s work.
  • Assist in resolving field-related issues quickly and professionally to minimize disruption to the customer and protect project relationships.
  • Encourage proactive coordination with internal teams to ensure projects progress smoothly and customer timelines are respected.
  • Reinforce a culture of accountability and craftsmanship within field teams to deliver a consistent and positive customer experience across all Low Slope & Sheet Metal projects.

Work Environment –
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be in an office environment 15% of the time with moderate temperature and noise levels, 85% will be at jobsites where temperatures can exceed 110 degrees and noise level is elevated.


Competencies

  • OSHA 30 certification
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Experience managing multiple Low Slope & Sheet Metal crews
  • Knowledge of manufacturer installation requirements


Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of Low Slope & Sheet Metal roofing experience
  • Experience with low-slope roofing systems
  • Experience with architectural sheet metal installation
  • Proven field leadership experience
  • Strong understanding of construction scheduling

Physical Demands
: A certain degree of physical fitness is required to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to walk for long periods of time and lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Must be able to carry and climb ladders as needed. Must be able to endure outdoor elements such as extreme heat and cold that is common in the valley. Must be comfortable with heights. Must be able to maintain balance while walking on sloped surfaces.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time salaried leadership position. Standard work hours are Monday through Friday; however, additional time may be required based on business demands.


Preferred Education and Experience:
High School diploma or GED, college an advantage but not required.

Bi-Lingual preferred (English/Spanish)
