About GutRx

GutRx is a physician-led digestive-health company focused on helping consumers better understand and support their gut health.

Our content features Dr. Raj and Dr. Fierro, whose medical expertise allows GutRx to educate consumers, address common digestive-health concerns, and build trust through credible, approachable information.

GutRx is building a differentiated health brand at the intersection of physician credibility, consumer education, compelling content, and educational marketing.

The Opportunity

GutRx is seeking a Founding Head of Performance to build and lead our content and creative-growth function.

You will turn the expertise of Dr. Raj and Dr. Fierro into compelling content for paid advertising, organic social media, email, landing pages, Amazon, retail, and other digital channels.

This is not a traditional Social Media Manager or Videographer role. It is a hands-on founding position combining:

  • Creative strategy
  • Direct-response copywriting
  • Physician interviewing and direction
  • Trend and audience research
  • Video production and editing
  • Performance analysis
  • Content operations
  • Brand and regulatory judgment

You will be expected to create the systems, processes, creative standards, and testing infrastructure needed to make content a meaningful growth engine for GutRx.

Compensation

GutRx is offering an equity award intended to represent 3%–5% of the company’s fully diluted ownership immediately following the grant.

The final percentage will be determined based on:

  • Relevant experience and portfolio quality
  • Ability to independently own strategy and execution
  • Full-time commitment
  • Experience building an early-stage company or creative function
  • Direct-response and paid-media expertise
  • Ability to produce and edit content personally
  • Leadership and team-building capabilities
  • Expected long-term responsibilities

The anticipated equity terms are:

  • One-year vesting
  • Vested equity forfeited upon departure within first year

Creative and Growth Strategy

  • Build GutRx’s physician-led content and performance-creative strategy.
  • Establish the company’s creative operating system, production calendar, testing roadmap, and reporting structure.
  • Develop compelling advertising angles, hooks, scripts, formats, offers, and calls to action.
  • Translate GutRx’s positioning and product benefits into creative concepts designed to earn attention and drive measurable action.
  • Identify the most important customer problems, objections, motivations, questions, and purchasing triggers.
  • Monitor platform trends, competitor activity, customer reviews, comments, emerging gut-health conversations, and successful creative from adjacent categories.
  • Determine which trends GutRx should adapt and which would undermine the company’s medical credibility.
  • Develop content for different stages of the customer journey, from initial awareness through conversion, retention, and advocacy.
  • Build several recognizable, repeatable content featuring Dr. Raj and Dr. Fierro.

Physician Content Development

  • Work closely with Dr. Raj and Dr. Fierro to identify relevant, timely, and commercially useful content topics.
  • Research topics and prepare the physicians before each filming session.
  • Interview the physicians and extract clear, concise, engaging explanations.
  • Translate technical medical information into language consumers can readily understand.
  • Write scripts, outlines, interview questions, talking points, headlines, captions, hooks, and calls to action.
  • Create multiple openings and variations for every major concept.
  • Help the physicians communicate naturally without making the content feel scripted or promotional.
  • Preserve scientific accuracy while making the content engaging and accessible.
  • Develop physician-led educational, myth-versus-fact, problem-solution, demonstration, reaction, testimonial, and direct-response formats.

Production and On-Camera Direction

  • Plan and lead recurring batch-production sessions with Dr. Raj and Dr. Fierro.
  • Prepare creative briefs, scripts, shot lists, schedules, props, products, locations, and production equipment.
  • Coach the physicians on pacing, delivery, tone, body language, energy, and camera presence.
  • Create a comfortable and efficient filming environment that maximizes usable footage while respecting physician availability.
  • Manage or operate cameras, lighting, microphones, teleprompters, and related production equipment.
  • Capture product footage, demonstrations, lifestyle content, still photography, B-roll, and behind-the-scenes assets.
  • Coordinate freelance videographers, photographers, editors, designers, actors, creators, or production partners when necessary.
  • Maintain consistent visual, audio, and editorial standards across GutRx content.

Editing and Content Repurposing

  • Edit short-form video for Meta, Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Amazon, landing pages, email, and other digital placements.
  • Create effective opening frames, subtitles, graphics, product callouts, pattern interruptions, transitions, and calls to action.
  • Produce both polished physician content and more natural, platform-native creative.
  • Turn each filming session into multiple usable assets.
  • Produce several hook, body, length, offer, and call-to-action variations from strong concepts.
  • Adapt content for different aspect ratios, placements, audience segments, and stages of awareness.
  • Maintain an organized, searchable library of scripts, approved claims, raw footage, edited content, approvals, and performance results.

Performance Analysis

  • Evaluate metrics such as initial hold rate, watch time, completion rate, click-through rate, conversion rate, customer-acquisition cost, and return on advertising spend.
  • Create a regular creative-performance report.
  • Document what was tested, what was learned, and what should be tested next.
  • Identify recurring patterns among winning and losing creative.
  • Use both quantitative performance data and qualitative customer feedback to guide content decisions.
  • Help GutRx develop institutional creative knowledge rather than repeatedly starting from scratch.

Medical and Regulatory Coordination

  • Work within GutRx’s approved messaging, claims, disclosure, and compliance guidelines.
  • Identify scripts, visuals, testimonials, demonstrations, or edits that may create medical or regulatory concerns.
  • Coordinate review with GutRx’s physicians and designated regulatory or legal advisers.
  • Maintain an accessible library of approved claims, required disclosures, and prohibited language.
  • Consider the overall impression created by the doctors’ credentials, scripts, visuals, captions, product demonstrations, testimonials, and editing.
  • Confirm that content completes the required approval process before publication or paid-media launch.

Required Qualifications

  • At least five years of relevant experience in performance creative, direct-to-consumer marketing, content production, social video, or a closely related discipline.
  • A strong portfolio of short-form video, paid-social advertising, and organic content.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop concepts, hooks, scripts, and calls to action—not merely execute another person’s creative direction.
  • Experience directing founders, physicians, executives, experts, or other nonprofessional on-camera talent.
  • Strong interviewing skills and an ability to extract compelling insights from technical experts.
  • Hands-on video production and editing capabilities.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, or comparable editing tools.
  • Strong understanding of creating and posting Meta, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and platform-native short-form content.
  • Understanding of direct-response advertising and structured creative testing.
  • Ability to interpret creative and paid-media performance data.
  • Strong writing, editing, organization, and project-management skills.
  • Ability to balance speed, professionalism, credibility, and commercial effectiveness.
  • Comfort operating in an early-stage environment with limited infrastructure.
  • Willingness to personally execute while also building systems and managing outside resources.

The Right Person for This Role

You may be the right fit if you:

  • Want to help build a company rather than simply complete assigned projects.
  • Can immediately recognize a strong hook and explain why it should work.
  • Know how to make physicians appear natural, authoritative, and engaging.
  • Can turn a detailed medical explanation into several concise pieces of content.
  • Understand that polished content is not necessarily effective advertising.
  • Can move comfortably between strategy, scripting, directing, production, editing, and performance analysis.
  • Follow trends closely without weakening brand credibility.
  • Are comfortable working with ambiguity and creating processes where none currently exist.
  • Think like both a creative leader and an owner.
  • Understand the risk and potential reward associated with early-stage equity compensation.

What This Role Is Not

This is not solely:

  • A social-media scheduling position
  • A community-management position
  • A videography-only role
  • A video-editing-only role
  • A medical-writing position
  • A graphic-design position
  • A paid-media buying position
  • A short-term consulting engagement

This person must connect strategy, customer insight, scripting, physician direction, production, editing, trend intelligence, compliance, and performance learning.
