Full-Time Nanny – Long-Term Care

Location: McLean, VA — Long-Term Placement
Schedule
Monday–Friday (8:00am- 6:00pm)
- 45-50 guaranteed hours per week during the family’s typical work schedule
- Flexibility required for occasional late evenings (after 5:00 PM)
- Occasional weekend days and overnight care (scheduled in advance)
Compensation: $28–$32/hour (gross, W-2), based on experience
Start Date: June 2026
Position Overview
A warm, professional family in McLean, VA is seeking a full-time nanny to become a trusted, long-term partner in their home. This role is centered around providing exceptional infant care for their daughter while occasionally supporting their older child during late afternoons or schedule overlaps.
The family values reliability, communication, and a genuine love for working with infants. They are seeking a nanny who is nurturing, proactive, developmentally minded, and confident managing routines independently while maintaining open communication with the parents.
Dad works from home in a separate space, so the ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a household with a work-from-home parent while confidently leading the day.
Child

The family is seeking a nanny who is highly engaged, nurturing, and hands-on—someone who actively participates in the child’s growth rather than providing passive care.
Provide attentive, nurturing, safety-focused infant care throughout the day
- Follow and support daily feeding, nap, and play routines
- Engage in age-appropriate developmental activities including reading, music, singing, floor play, and sensory engagement
- Maintain zero screen time approach through approximately age two
- Support language development; Spanish-speaking candidates are a plus
- Take infant outdoors for walks and fresh air regularly
Older Sibling (Secondary / Occasional Care)
- 2 years, 11 months old
- Attends daycare full-time
- Typically returns home around 5:00 PM
- Described as outgoing, fun, sweet, and caring
- Loves books, cars, and outdoor play
- Advanced verbal skills and early talker
Household Environment
The family lives in a three-bedroom townhouse with garage parking. Each child has their own room, and there is a dedicated play area adjacent to the kitchen. The home also includes a large back patio/garden where the children enjoy outdoor play.
The neighborhood is walkable with sidewalks and is within walking distance to McLean High School and Lewinsville Park, making it ideal for stroller walks and outings. Libraries and additional parks are a short drive away.
Primary Responsibilities
Childcare
- Provide attentive, hands-on care throughout the day Support daily structured routines including meals, play, and rest Engage in age-appropriate developmental activities Foster a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment
Developmental Engagement
- Provide attentive, nurturing, safety-focused infant care throughout the day
- Follow and support daily feeding, nap, and play routines
- Engage in age-appropriate developmental activities including reading, music, singing, floor play, and sensory engagement
- Maintain zero screen time approach through approximately age two
- Support language development; Spanish-speaking candidates are a plus
- Take infant outdoors for walks and fresh air regularly
Child-Related Organization
- Prepare meals for the child
- Child’s laundry and organization of clothing
- Clean and maintain child-related spaces
- Keep toys, supplies, and areas organized
Flexibility & Support
- Support with Older Child (as needed)
- Assist with smooth transitions when toddler returns home from daycare
- Provide balanced support for both children during overlap periods
- Toddler meal prep before dinner time when helpful
Child-Related Household Support
- Baby laundry
- Bottle preparation, washing, and sanitizing
- Tidying nursery, play spaces, and child-related areas
- Light meal prep for children
- Light family household support during downtime
This position focuses on child-related responsibilities only and does not include heavy housekeeping or full household management duties.
Long-Term Stability
