We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Functional Medicine Nurse Practitioner to join our innovative healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including detailed medical histories, physical examinations, and vital signs to identify underlying health imbalances.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing functional medicine protocols, including nutritional counseling, lifestyle modifications, and integrative therapies.
- Administer advanced procedures such as IV infusions, botulinum toxin treatments, dermal fillers, and esthetic laser treatments in accordance with clinical guidelines.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care for patients with complex conditions such as gastrointestinal disorders, chronic pain, behavioral health issues, or geriatrics.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) accurately documenting patient encounters, treatment plans, and progress notes while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Prescribe medications within scope of practice, including pharmaceuticals related to pain management, hormone therapy, or other integrative treatments, adhering to DEA regulations.
- Educate patients on health coaching strategies, disease prevention, and self-care techniques to promote long-term wellness and adherence.
Skills
- Proven experience working with electronic health record systems such as Epic or Athenahealth for efficient documentation and patient management.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and diagnostic evaluation techniques relevant to functional medicine practices.
- Skilled in performing procedures like suturing, phlebotomy, catheter care, and sterile processing within clinical settings.
- Expertise in managing complex cases involving acute care scenarios such as ICU or emergency room experience; familiarity with hospital medicine or Level I/II trauma center protocols is advantageous.
- Experience administering injections (including dermal fillers), performing skin treatments like esthetic laser therapy, and managing pain or infectious diseases.
- Familiarity with CPT coding and ICD coding for accurate billing and documentation; understanding Workers’ Compensation law is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in telehealth environments providing remote consultations and follow-up care.
- Excellent patient assessment skills combined with compassionate communication tailored for diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, assisted living residents, or individuals with developmental disabilities.
