About the Opportunity
Our client is a fast-growing and highly innovative player in the lithium battery and energy storage space, currently undergoing a strategic transformation into the AI Data Center (AIDC) ecosystem. With the exponential growth of AI-driven workloads, the demand for reliable, mission-critical power solutions is accelerating rapidly.
They are now seeking a commercially astute and technically credible leader to take on the role of Head of North American Market, responsible for spearheading market entry and expansion across hyperscale and colocation data center operators.
This is a highly strategic position where success is defined not just by revenue generation, but by securing Approved Vendor List (AVL) and shortlist status with top-tier clients—laying the foundation for long-term growth in the region.
Key Responsibilities
1. AVL & Shortlist Strategy (Core Focus)
- Lead the end-to-end vendor qualification process, driving inclusion into Approved Vendor Lists of major hyperscalers and colocation providers
- Manage and navigate RFI/RFP/RFQ processes, ensuring all technical submissions meet stringent enterprise requirements
- Partner closely with client engineering teams to achieve technical validation and “design-in” status for product solutions
2. Strategic Relationship Management
- Identify and engage key decision-makers across procurement, engineering, and infrastructure teams within target organizations
- Build early-stage relationships with consultants and EPCs to influence technical specifications during project design phases
- Establish strong market presence and credibility within the North American data center ecosystem
3. Compliance & Technical Alignment
- Act as the bridge between global R&D/compliance teams and North American stakeholders to ensure adherence to required certifications and standards (e.g., UL, NFPA)
- Proactively address regulatory, cybersecurity, and supply chain compliance considerations relevant to critical infrastructure projects
- Ensure all qualification materials and processes align with client expectations for shortlist inclusion
Candidate Profile
Must-Have Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience within the North American energy, power, or data center infrastructure sector
- Strong understanding of procurement and vendor qualification processes within hyperscalers or large infrastructure organizations
- Solid technical acumen with the ability to interpret specifications and align solutions to client requirements
- Established network with key stakeholders across data center operators, OEMs, or related ecosystem players
- Native or bilingual proficiency in English
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in design-build project environments or early-stage supplier engagement
- Background in electrical engineering, energy systems, or related technical disciplines
- Familiarity with regulatory and certification frameworks in North America
