Job Title: Housekeeper
Position Summary
The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors throughout the Personal Care Home. This position plays a vital role in supporting resident health, safety, and quality of life by ensuring resident rooms and common areas are consistently clean, organized, and well-maintained.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, hallways, dining areas, offices, and common areas.
- Make beds and change linens according to facility schedules and resident needs.
- Dust, sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors, furniture, and fixtures.
- Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
- Clean windows, mirrors, and other surfaces as assigned.
- Restock housekeeping supplies, paper products, and toiletries as needed.
- Follow all infection control, sanitation, and safety procedures.
- Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, damaged equipment, or unusual conditions to the supervisor promptly.
- Operate and maintain housekeeping equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Handle cleaning chemicals according to manufacturer instructions and facility policies.
- Respect resident privacy, dignity, and confidentiality at all times.
- Interact courteously and professionally with residents, families, visitors, and staff.
- Assist with special cleaning projects and perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Previous housekeeping experience in a healthcare, personal care, assisted living, nursing home, or hospitality setting preferred, but not required.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Pay: $15.00 – $17.00 per hour
