About The Role
The Human Resources Generalist is a vital member of the HR team, responsible for providing comprehensive support across employee relations, talent acquisition, organizational development, and compliance. This role involves working closely with leadership teams and employees to address HR-related issues, implement HR programs, and drive initiatives that enhance organizational performance. The HR Generalist acts as a strategic partner and a hands-on resource, ensuring that HR practices are consistent, compliant, and aligned with business needs. Reporting directly to the Field Human Resources Director, this position offers an exciting opportunity to influence HR strategy and operational excellence in a remote setting across multiple locations.
Qualifications
- Two to Five years of professional Human Resources experience, including at least one year supporting multiple groups as a Business Partner.
- Experience working in unionized and non-union environments preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
- PHR or SPHR certification is highly desirable.
- Valid Driver’s License required.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Teams.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day HR support to assigned groups, including leadership teams, union and non-union hourly employees across multiple locations within the designated territory.
- Serve as the first point of contact for managers and employees on HR issues, partnering with them to develop and implement solutions.
- Manage employee relations activities, including investigations, complaint resolution, employee advocacy, and reporting analytics to support organizational performance.
- Collaborate with leadership on talent acquisition strategies, performance management, employee development, succession planning, and compensation initiatives.
- Partner with managers to evaluate and enhance employee skills, career paths, and development opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws, policies, and practices, including ADA accommodations, leave management, and workers' compensation reviews.
- Lead and support HR initiatives, including policy development, implementation, and communication across the organization.
- Provide guidance and strategic advice to leadership and employees on HR topics, strategies, and best practices.
- Conduct research and analysis for HR projects, ensuring data-driven decision-making.
- Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned to support HR and organizational goals.
