In-House Auto Mechanic and Sign Installer Jobs in Dallas at Signs Manufacturing
Mechanic Duties
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on company vehicles, including trucks, vans, and other equipment, to ensure they are in safe and optimal working condition.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in vehicles and machinery, including engines, brakes, transmissions, and other systems.
- Conduct preventive maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks, to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work, including parts used and service schedules.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards during all repair and maintenance activities.
Sign Installer Duties
- Install, repair, and maintain various types of signage, including indoor and outdoor signs, banners, vinyl graphics, and illuminated signs.
- Assess installation sites to determine the best methods and materials for secure and visually appealing sign placement.
- Operate tools and equipment, such as drills, ladders, and lifts, to safely and efficiently complete sign installations.
- Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure signs meet specifications and client expectations.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of installed signs to ensure longevity and aesthetic quality.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in automotive repair, mechanics, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a mechanic, with strong knowledge of vehicle and equipment repair and maintenance.
- Experience in sign installation or a related field, such as construction or carpentry, is a plus.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment used in mechanical repairs and sign installation.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and installation diagrams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and work at heights using ladders or lifts.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, or travel to off-site locations as needed.
Working Conditions
- Work is performed both indoors (shop environment) and outdoors (installation sites), with exposure to various weather conditions.
- May require standing, bending, or climbing for extended periods.
- Adherence to safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), is mandatory.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $22.00 – $25.00 per hour
Experience:
- Automotive diagnostics: 2 years (Required)
- Automotive repair: 2 years (Required)
License/Certification:
- ASE A8 Engine Performance Certification (Preferred)
- ASE Certification (Preferred)
