Role Description
This role is for an Industrial Designer responsible for creating functional, user-centered, and visually appealing product designs. In this position, you will contribute to the development of products from concept to production by combining creativity, usability, and practical engineering considerations.
As an Industrial Designer, you will work closely with engineering, product development, marketing, and manufacturing teams to transform ideas into innovative product solutions. You will develop design concepts, create sketches and 3D models, and refine product designs based on user needs, technical requirements, and business objectives.
The role involves conducting design research, preparing prototypes, evaluating product functionality, and supporting design improvements throughout the product development process. You will help ensure that products meet quality standards, manufacturing requirements, and user expectations.
Strong creative thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail are essential for success in this role. This position focuses on product design, usability, and innovation rather than graphic design or architectural design.
The Industrial Designer plays a key role in developing products that are functional, aesthetically appealing, and commercially successful.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop product concepts, sketches, and 3D design models
- Conduct user, market, and design research to support product development
- Create prototypes and evaluate product functionality and usability
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams throughout the design process
- Refine product designs based on testing, feedback, and technical requirements
- Prepare design documentation, specifications, and presentations
- Support material selection and manufacturing considerations
- Ensure designs align with brand identity, quality standards, and business objectives
- Participate in product testing and continuous design improvement initiatives
- Stay updated on design trends, materials, and manufacturing technologies
Qualifications
- Strong creativity and visual problem-solving skills
- Understanding of product design principles, ergonomics, and user-centered design
- Familiarity with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Rhino, or similar tools
- Ability to create sketches, prototypes, and design presentations
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Good communication and collaboration abilities
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and materials is a plus
- Ability to balance creativity with practical design requirements
- Willingness to learn new design tools and industry trends
- Educational background in Industrial Design, Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is preferred
