Role Description The Learning and Leadership Development Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Palm Harbor, FL. This role designs, delivers, and evaluates training programs that build leadership capabilities and strengthen staff performance across the organization. Daily responsibilities include conducting needs assessments, developing learning curricula and materials, facilitating workshops and training sessions, and supporting coaching and development plans for leaders at various levels. The specialist collaborates with managers and HR partners to align learning initiatives with organizational goals, track participation and outcomes, and continuously improve programs based on feedback and data. The role also supports talent development initiatives, onboarding processes, and succession planning efforts to ensure a robust pipeline of capable leaders.
Qualifications
- Experience designing and delivering learning programs, including curriculum development, instructional design, and training facilitation.
- Skills in leadership development, coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to support growth of emerging and established leaders.
- Ability to assess learning needs, analyze data, and evaluate program effectiveness using metrics, surveys, and participant feedback.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences and build trusting relationships.
- Proficiency with learning technologies and tools (e.g., LMS platforms, virtual training tools, presentation software) and comfort with hybrid learning formats.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in education, human resources, organizational development, or a related field; relevant certifications in training or leadership development are a plus.
- Prior experience in nonprofit, community-based, or youth-serving organizations is beneficial, along with a strong alignment with the Y’s values of equity, inclusion, and social responsibility.
