Private Investigator – PT
Premier Protection & Investigations is a growing firm in Knoxville, TN. We are a small team of dedicated investigators who are passionate about providing results for our clients. We offer a variety of investigative services, including civil litigation, criminal defense investigations, surveillance, process serving, and more.
Job Summary:
The Private Investigator will be responsible for assisting the firm with the investigation of various types of cases. The investigator will be responsible for conducting surveillance, background checks, preparing investigative reports, presenting the findings to the client, and process serving. The investigator will also assist in coordinating with other team members and clients to deliver a high level of service. This position requires availabilty on evenings, weekends, and some holidays. The expected hours are 25-30 hours per week.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct surveillance investigations
- Client/Subject/Witness interviews
- Crime/crash scene investigations
- Locate Subjects/Witnesses
- Courthouse research
- Background research using databases, online sources, etc.
- Serve legal documents
- Draft and proofread investigative reports
- Maintain accurate electronic and physical case files, including handwritten notes, typed reports, discovery materials, video files, etc.
- Maintain accurate expense reports
- Correspond with Senior Investigator/Case Manager/Client about case updates and statuses
- Correspond with courthouse officials, law enforcement officials, etc., regarding records requests
- Provide testimony in court or at deposition
- Other miscellaneous tasks as required

- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, online databases, etc.
- Dependable and reliable
Education and Experience:
- 21 years of age or older (per State licensing requirements)
- US Citizen or legal resident
- Previous investigation, process service, law enforcement, or paralegal experience preferred
- Associate Degree or higher (preferred)
- Must hold a current Tennessee Private Investigator license, or obtain one within 90 days of the commencement of your employment
- Must meet all State licensing requirements
- Required to hold a valid driver’s license
- Required to carry automobile insurance
- Must maintain state continuing education requirements
Pay: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour
