Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in the San Francisco Bay Area for a Linguistic Researcher. The role involves conducting linguistic data analysis, developing and maintaining linguistic resources such as dictionaries and corpora, and researching language patterns to support the evaluation and improvement of AI systems. The Linguistic Researcher will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure language models and AI systems exhibit accuracy, fairness, and inclusivity. Responsibilities also include documenting findings and contributing to the development of linguistic insights that inform product strategy.
Qualifications
- Experience in Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, or a related field, with a solid understanding of phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics.
- Proficiency in data analysis and research methodologies, including the use of linguistic datasets and annotation tools.
- Hands-on experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP) tasks, AI systems, or linguistic model evaluation.
- Excellent skills in written and verbal communication, with the ability to document research findings clearly and concisely.
- Experience in programming languages commonly used for linguistic analysis (e.g., Python, R) is a plus.
- Degree in Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, Computer Science, or a related discipline is required; advanced degree is a plus.
- Familiarity with ethical considerations in AI and a commitment to diversity and inclusivity in AI systems are advantageous.
