Duties
- Safely operate commercial trucks with manual transmissions across local and short-haul routes, adhering to all safety regulations and company policies
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other equipment as needed, ensuring proper handling of refrigerated, flatbed, tanker, or specialty loads
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of tractor-trailers to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with DOT standards
- Execute route driving efficiently while maintaining timely deliveries within designated areas
- Manage freight documentation accurately, including delivery logs, load manifests, and inspection reports
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route progress, delivery status, and any issues encountered during shifts
- Perform routine maintenance checks and report any mechanical concerns promptly to keep trucks in optimal condition
Qualifications
- Valid CDL-A license with a clean driving record and at least one year of commercial driving experience
- Proficiency in operating manual transmission trucks and handling various trailer types such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or dump trucks
- Experience with freight load & unload procedures using forklifts or roll-off trucks preferred
- Strong knowledge of safety protocols related to trucking, cargo securement, and vehicle maintenance
- Ability to perform detailed inspections and maintain accurate logs in compliance with DOT regulations
- Excellent route planning skills and familiarity with local roadways for efficient short-haul deliveries
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads when necessary and perform routine vehicle inspections

Pay: $2,200.00 – $4,800.00 per week
