Maintenance Technician

Right Choice Property Management is seeking a proactive, dependable, and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining our corporate headquarters at 985 Broad Street and supporting maintenance operations across our residential and commercial property portfolio throughout the Central Savannah River Area.

This position is ideal for an experienced technician with strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on expertise in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, appliance repair, and building systems. Your work will directly contribute to maintaining safe, attractive, and well-functioning properties while delivering excellent service to residents, tenants, and property owners.

Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic property management team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation, repair, and upkeep of residential and commercial properties. Your expertise will help maintain a safe, efficient, and well-functioning environment by performing routine inspections, troubleshooting issues, and executing repairs across multiple systems.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections of building systems, common areas, and property grounds to identify maintenance issues before they become major repairs.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to maintenance requests from residents, tenants, and management staff.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance involving:
  • Plumbing (leaks, toilets, sinks, fixtures)
  • Electrical (lighting, switches, outlets)
  • Carpentry (drywall, doors, cabinets, trim)
  • Appliance troubleshooting and repair
  • General handyman tasks
  • Troubleshoot HVAC systems and coordinate specialized repairs when necessary.
  • Prepare vacant units for new residents, including painting, patching, cleaning, and general repairs.
  • Maintain the parking areas, sidewalks, common areas, mechanical rooms, and storage spaces at 985 Broad Street.
  • Remove litter and debris and report any safety hazards immediately.
  • Read technical manuals, schematics, and equipment documentation as needed to diagnose and repair problems.
  • Assist with renovation projects and coordinate with contractors and vendors during facility upgrades.
  • Maintain detailed records of completed work orders, repairs performed, and materials used.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to after-hours emergency maintenance requests.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician, Service Technician, or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, and appliance repair.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems and building equipment.
  • Familiarity with reading schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Experience with HVAC/R systems, air conditioning units, and related controls is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of construction processes and facility renovation practices.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work on ladders, rooftops, and in confined spaces.
  • EPA certification, OSHA training, or trade certifications are a plus.

Pay: $17.50 – $22.00 per hour
